Freudian Slip?

David Cone, who according to some rumors, actually got caught doing in the bullpen what he freudianly slips during this clip from a Yankee game broadcasted live on YES.

YES Boots Verducci Over Yankee Comments

Neil Best’s media blog on Newsday reports that Tom Verducci will no longer appear on YES network’s “Yankees Hot Stove.” because of comments in his recent SI.com column where he called Yankee ownership ‘disorganized’ and ‘cowardly’.

YES spokesman Eric Handler made this statment regarding Verducci

“recent remarks pertaining to the Yankees’ ownership were extremely personal and cutting, and we decided it would not be in our interests to have him on the show going forward.

“Also, Tom is collaborating with Joe Torre on a second book. It’s unfortunate, but we figured it was an action that had to be taken. We appreciate the work he’s done for us in the past.”

“The recent disclosure of Tom’s collaboration with Torre on yet another book highlights a conflict in his ability to write a balanced column about Torre’s departure from the Yankees,” Handler said.

SI.com’s Jon Heyman has replaced Verducci on the show, and appeared on Thursday night.

Kay Rips Torre

From Newsday

Joe Torre very simply has the best job in pro sports,” he said, noting
the team's $200-million payroll, Torre's $7-million salary and George
Steinbrenner
's support.

“I should have such a tough job,” Kay said. “If there's a
broadcast entity out there that wants me to work in the greatest city
in the world, have the best of everything at my disposal and pay me
much more than anyone in the business, please contact my agent.

“Also, if it's OK that I completely miss my company's mission
statement for six straight years and not be fired, that would be cool,
too. I should be such a martyr.”

Wheres Willie???

SNY has been criticized for their on air fumbles and now we lose Willie Randolph in the shuffle. SNY teased a Willie Randolph post game interview, pretty standard, but never returned or offered an explanation why it was not aired.

YES gets no love from Torre either. Joe has declined their request to do a post game one on one with YES reporters and are forced to get in the back of the pack with the rest of the press.

  • Al Leiter : What A Loser

Are you kidding me? You won 11 games as a Yankee. You won 94 as a Met, yet you have to end your career as a pinstripe and then go to YES to join the rest of those losers. I mean cmon Al, are you that big of a baby cause Omar wouldn't offer you 2 million to be awful? You know you'll come crawling back here when YES gets tired of your shit. Discraziado!

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
