Dave Williams struck out seven in five scoreless innings Tuesday in his second start for the Rookie GCL Mets.
Williams
was placed on Triple-A Norfolk's DL in mid-June with a strained
shoulder. He seems ready to rejoin Norfolk's rotation now, but the
injury has left him with little chance of a callup to the Mets before
September.
AAA
Willie Collazo dealt seven shutout
innings with five strikeouts to earn his third win in Norfolk.
Tim Lavigne struck out four
in his two innings for his third save as a Tide.
Rueben Gotay’s hit his first HR as a Met
AA
Miguel Perez allowed just one run on six hits over eight innings.
He struck out seven and walked three.
Michel Abreu was 3-3 with a three run double.
Chase
Lambin reached base all four times he went to the plate in a 2-2 night with
a double, and 2 walks.
Carlos Gomez ran his hit streak to 18 straight
with a 1-3 night with an RBI.
A+
Corey Coles doubled in a 2-4 night
Jamar Hill drilled a solo HR in another 2-4 night.
A-
Jon Niese was strong again, dealing 5.1
innings with six strikeouts.
He gave up
one run on three hits and a walk for his 10
th win of the year,
lowering his ERA to 3.42.
Jesus Gamero drove home five runs in a
2-3 afternoon with a sac fly
