Adam Rubin, in his blog for The Daily News, gives a roundup of the morning’s events from camp before the Mets head to Jupiter to battle the Cardinals.
In it, Rubin notes that the Mets have made another round of cuts. This week’s cuts include 1B Michel Abreu as well as relievers Willie Collazo and Carlos Muniz. These players have been re-assigned to minor-league camp.
Rubin also notes that Carlos Beltran will travel with the team to Jupiter, and start in CF.
Another step in the right direction for Beltran and the Mets. No truth to the rumor that Jerry Seinfeld will bat leadoff today.
