Washburn, Ibanez Claimed On Waivers

FoxSports Ken Rosenthal is reporting that Mariners LHP Jarrod Washburn and OF Raul Ibanez have been claimed on waivers and have until 1:30 PM Thursday to work out a trade with the claiming teams. The Rays could have interest in Ibanez, with the news of Carl Crawford going down for the year with a hand injury.

I’m guessing the Rays claimed Ibanez and the Yankees, with their pitching woes, claimed Washburn.

  • Mets Out of Ibanez Sweepstakes

ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark is reporting that the Mets have decided to drop out of the Raul Ibanez bidding war, and will instead look for a bat after tomorrow’s trading deadline. The Mets balked when the Mariners insisted LHP Jon Niese be included in a package.

Looking like Fernando Tatis will be our LF for the remainder of ‘08. Cross your fingers that Ryan Church comes back healthy..

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
