Speier, 33, was 2-0 with a 2.98 ERA in 58 appearances with Toronto last season. Speier is 27-20 with 17 saves and a 4.02 ERA in his nine-year career.
I wouldve liked to the Mets to add him to the bullpen especially with Mota out for 50 games and Heilman a trading chip. But it was a very good pick-up by the Angels as they have one of the best bullpens in the league. Im curious to see how much money the contract is for becuase I thought he had a good chance of becoming a closer but instead with the Angels he'll be a 7th inning pitcher. To me, 4 years seems one to many for the 33 year old Justin Speier, but good pick-up nonetheless.
