Another September, another batch of stress, and mysteriously repetitive circumstances. But what do our friends round the Blog o Sphere think as Jerry and his band of Gangsta’s make attempt to rewrite history, make right what once went wrong. Lets see if Al, Ziggy and the crew say:
Stef takes the voice of optimism over at You Can’t Script Baseball. She’ll even tell you why, in convenient list form.
IMFM takes a look at the bullpen in his usual style, which means pictures of batman. And not the cool Christian Bale or Keaton versions mind you.
The Ed Kranepool Society isn’t exactly relieved after last nights win.
And good advice, as always, from Faith and Fear: take pain killers before every game, you won’t feel a thing.

Since my idea to add a pool of live sharks to the NFL Draft has been rejected, we took a look around the internet to see what some of our fellow bloggers are saying this weekend. And don’t forget, the Foot Father himself, Anthony, is live blogging the weekend over at the Giants Football Blog. Amongst other things he’ll be talking to the experts, fans, and providing the latest news as it happens.
Blastings Thrilledge provides his take on the Mets Bullpen. Its worth it for his motivational poster alone.
Honestly, is there a max number of times one can link to Fire Joe Morgan? Is it doubled when its a post that takes a shot at Wallace Matthews? Tripled?
If you were wondering, ‘Dan, when will you find a blog that combines both the Mets and the greatness of Led Zeppelin?” Well, thankfully, Toasty Joe covers that for us.
Over at Lone Star Mets, Dan in Texas is a bit angry. Something common amongst the blogs. Just as Trey. Coop. Even Jason at Faith and Fear is showing a bit of anger. And when you’ve tipped the balance from Faith to Fear, well then we’re all in trouble.
Hopefully todays win will help everyones nerves. At least for a day.

While as NYer, it is your right to boo pretty much anything, there are probably a few things you shouldn’t boo. The Ace of your baseball team. Your top run producer. The guy on the subway with a gun. Scarlett Johanson. And of course, Eddie Money.
Many of our friends cross the Internet agree, except maybe about the last one.
The boos didn’t issue forth from history, they were about your inability to keep the ball in the park and the crappy defense you and your teammates put on display today.
Special bonus for mentioning the Magna Carta in a post about the Mets.
The Countdown clock is at less than a day, with the kickoff to the Mets 2008 season at less than a day away. So as we savor the anticipation of these last few hours before Johan takes the mound, lets peruse the blogs and see what our friends around the net are saying.
Over at Always Amazin, Matthew takes a look at the last four roster spots up for grab, and who’s still at the major league camp hoping to get one of them. Its pretty well organized, with a look at each player and why they may or may not be sporting a rockin Met uniform instead of eating some cajun food come opening day. From the guys almost gauranteed a spot (Register and Gotay) to the ones just helping to fill spring lineups (this means you Anderson Hernandez), he checks them all out.
A great analysis, though its a shame to see Joe Smith so far down the list. I think the biggest question is that last bullpen spot. With Register required to make the club or be sent back, that leaves one spot between Wise and Dirty Sanchez, assuming none of the current relievers are traded as rumors have hinted at.
Sphere: Related ContentThe Dugout takes a stab at the Mets in their season previews. Not their finest Mets themed work, but at least they’re starting to get a bit of that edge back they gave up when they sold out joined the Fanhouse. But hey, if we can’t laugh at the Mets spring training struggles then…well I guess the only other option is crying. And nobody likes a crier.
Jon over at the Dugout takes a look at the secret of Carlos Delgado’s notebook in his post today. I still miss the old days of the Dugout, and their classic column featuring David Wright and Lastings discussing possible new Met theme songs, but check out todays, as our first basement delves into Chaos Theory with Ruben Gotay.
Sphere: Related ContentPedro’s back, the Mets are at 4 in a row, everyones happy, even Joe B at WFAN. Well, maybe not him, but everyone else.
So as we welcome you to a new, improved HotFoot, lets see what our friends out in cyberspace think of the Pedro.
Metsradamus warns us not to jump our guns:
I’m going to try to resist the urge to believe that Pedro’s mere presence is going to pick up the team like a magic elixir. As much as I want to believe that, and as much as there’s evidence that it could be true, I’m not willing to put that much pressure on Pedro.
SNK of You Can’t Script Baseball, on the other hand, is excited.
Ricky, over at Riding with Ricky, has an interesting stat for you.
Jason over at Faith and Fear has a great take on Pedro as only the team over there can put it:
When Joshua is older, I’ll tell him about lots of players he’s now too young to remember. And when the conversation comes round to Pedro, I’ll tell him that 90% of what he’ll read about intangibles and “beyond the box score” is claptrap. Then I’ll tell him that Pedro Martinez was the other 10%. With Pedro, every legend was absolutely true.
And Jessica over at Take the 7 Train dedicates her Hands Down Column this week to yesterdays game.
