Floyd was unavailable to play Monday against the Braves, but he
believes his heel felt good enough for him to be included in the lineup
last night. Before the rainout was announced, however, Willie Randolph
had listed Michael Tucker as his left fielder, with Endy Chavez
starting again for Carlos Beltran (knee) in center.
“As I've said earlier, I'm not doing this stuff, whatever (Randolph)
wants me to do, I'll do,” Floyd said. “The team's playing well. I just
got back, been hurt, unreliable. Those things happen. I've just gotta
deal with what's dealt.”
Cliff Floyd was put on the 15 day disabled list with a sore achilles. He pinch hit last night so he was not eligable to be retroactively placed on the DL, so he will be unavailable under mid August.
OF Michael Tucker was called up from AAA Norfolk to take his spot on the roster.

the order while Sandy Martinez was
2-3 with a solo HR and 2 RBI. Michael Tucker added a solo
HR of his own.

- Carlos Gomez extended his hit streak to 10 games with a 2-4
night as well. Gomez is now hitting
.392/.418/.549 in his 14 July games. He
hasn’t drawn a single walk all month

- Mike Carp raised his season line to
.277/.382/.406 with a 3-5 night that included a double. - Corey Coles was 4-5 with a double while
Jose Coronado was 2-5 from the top of the order as well. Caleb
Stewart doubled, tripled and drove home three runs in a 3-4 night.
