Michael Kay Rips Joe Torre

Bob Raissman in The Daily News reports that YES broadcaster Michael Kay ripped Joe Torre on his ESPN radio show yesterday, calling him ‘cold and calculated’

“There are things about Joe Torre, if I wanted to come out and say, would show how cold and calculated he really is,” Kay fumed. “… Joe Torre is for Joe Torre. … The graveyard of Yankees coaches is loaded with bones of coaches Joe Torre did nothing about.”

Anyone remember him comparing talking about a no hitter to the halocaust? Between Kay, Sterling and Susan Waldman, the Yankees have cornered the market on wacky shock jock broadcasters. Maybe they can get Jackie Martling to do color commentary this year.

Joe Torre very simply has the best job in pro sports,” he said, noting
    the team's $200-million payroll, Torre's $7-million salary and George
    Steinbrenner
    's support.

“I should have such a tough job,” Kay said. “If there's a
broadcast entity out there that wants me to work in the greatest city
in the world, have the best of everything at my disposal and pay me
much more than anyone in the business, please contact my agent.

“Also, if it's OK that I completely miss my company's mission
statement for six straight years and not be fired, that would be cool,
too. I should be such a martyr.”

He also makes some funny comments regarding Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on WFAN going off about how Jose Reyes got a raw deal on his contract, suggesting Chris and his partner Mike Francesa compare their own WFAN contracts on the air.

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
