Rotoworld is reporting that disgruntled Royal OF Jose Guillen wants out of Kansas City and would be willing to give back some of the 24m he is owed for the next two years following 2008. Guillen and Kansas City manager Trey Hillman do not speak and it is clear Guillen wants to be dealt.
Guillen has hit .260 with 14 homers and 69 rbi this year. He is hitting only .148 in July.
I believe Guillen’s July stats are due to his unhappiness with being stuck in KC. He is a headcase but when its screwed on he is some hitter and if we can get him for lower tier prospects i say we pull the trigger.

I personally would rather pass on Guillen. He is due $36 million through the 2010 season…an enormous amount for the type of player he is. He would have to give up a lot of money to make this trade even worth it. In addition to only hitting .260, he has only walked 10 times in just under 400 at-bats, putting his on-base percentage at .287. At this point, I’d rather take my chances the rest of the season with Fernando Tatis in left field.
Sphere: Related ContentAccording to the Association Press, Jose Guillen and Jay Gibbons have been suspended for the first 15 days of the season for recieving shipments of HGH. Guillen reportably received HGH, testosterone and steroids between May 02 and June 05. Gibbons allegedly bought 6 shipments of HGH, testosterone and HCG.
According to the article “The 15-day penalties match what a second offense would have drawn under 2003-04 rules. Current rules call for a 50-game suspension for a first offense, a 100-game penalty for a second and a lifetime ban for a third.”
For those who don’t know, the full list comes out sometime in mid to late December. Guillen and Gibbons join the rank of Byrd, Ankiel, Glaus and Matthews. Oh yea…and Mr. Schoenewies. Feel proud guys.

Last year, the team made a splash by going out and signing SP Gil Meche to a five-year, $55 million contract. The Royals reportedly have $25 million to spend this offseason, making this deal possibly just one of a couple of big signings for that team.

The Dragons have offered a one-year deal and also a multi-year deal for the outfielder to consider.
If Fukudome stays in Japan, Dierkes believes Jose Guillen would become the best available free agent right fielder.
