ESPN.com is reporting that the Indians have agreed to deal 2007 Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia to the Milwaukee Brewers for a package of three minor league players, one of which is prized 1B/OF prospect Matt Laporta.
Sabathia was 6-8 with a 3.83 with the Indians before getting dealt.
A potential rotation of Sabathia, Ben Sheets, Yovani Gallardo, and Manny Parra in ‘09 is very, very scary.

As long as the offer isn’t so high that it could potentially cripple the franchise financially, the team remains interested in getting Sabathia locked up long-term.
The Indians’ intention is to have the situation settled, one way or another, before pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training on Feb. 14.
