According to Matt Cerrone of Mets Blog Ramon Castro left a minor league rehab game in Port St. Lucie with an apparent leg injury.
Yesterday I posted a report from George King of the NY Post that recently DFA’d Yankee catcher Chad Moeller might draw some interest from the Mets. Today, according to SI.com Jon Heyman, Moeller cleared waivers and was reclaimed by the Yankees.
This is really too bad. Obviously the Mets miss Castro’s bat off the bench but I also think they miss him in the clubhouse. His sense of humor in the dugout was clear to all observers. Keeping guys loose is something you hear about when teams talk about intangibles and chemistry.

According to George King who covers the Yankees for the NY Post, there is talk that the Mets might have interest in C Chad Moeller who was DFA’d by the Yankees on Friday.
King writes that Moeller was DFA’d before the latest injury news to Yankees C Jorge Posada was in and that Moeller had preformed well backing up C Jose Molina in Posada’s absence.
In a small sample so far this year, Moeller in 20 at-bats is hitting .350 with one home run and three rbi’s.
