McCann suffers Mild Concussion

Rotoworld is reporting that Braves C Brian McCann suffered a mild concussion in yesterday’s game when he and Shane Victorino collided at home plate. McCann expects to only miss a few days. This is the second time a catcher has been diagnosed with a concussion after being plowed over by a Philly player, the first being catcher Yadier Molina.

I know he’s a Brave, but McCann is becoming one of the young stars of the league. You don’t want anyone’s career being stunted because of injury. Somehow, I hate Victorino more and more.

  • Former Braves Catcher Lopez Retires

Former Atlanta Braves C Javy Lopez has called it quits, after being assigned to minor league camp for the Braves.  Lopez was competing for the job to backup two-time All-Star Brian McCann.  Lopez played 12 seasons for the Braves, and in his career he hit 22 HRs against the Mets, with a .292 avg in 343 ABs.  The three-time All-Star finished out his career with the Orioles and Red Sox and was trying out for the Braves as one last hurrah.

Lopez had a career year in 2003 when he hit 43 HRs and drove in 109 RBIs for the Braves.

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
