Braves And Mc Hammer : Both Old News

Funny that the Braves are associating themselves with MC Hammer with a new commercial called “My Braves” featuring current and former Braves and Hammertime himself. Maybe they can start wearing parachute pants to complete the awful package.

Come to think of it, didn't Hammer grow up in Oakland and got his start as a bat boy for the Athletics, and with the financial help of several Athletics players, started his own record label? So much for hometown loyalty.

No longer can they kill the Mets for “Who Let The Dogs Out”. At least the Mets had the sense to dump that one soon after they adopted it while the Yankees continue to play “Cotton Eyed Joe” and “YMCA” during the 7th inning stretch.

The Geek Analyzes The Mets Offense

Jeremy Heit of Mets Geek breaks down the Mets offense…

So, the season has started out pretty well for the Mets, huh? 5-1 record, on
top of the division and averaging a little over 6 runs of game. Yes, that is
correct. 6 runs a game. And know what is interesting? One of the key
offensive players from last year hasn't even started hitting yet.

    Wise Words From Metstradamus

From the fine blog The Musings and Prophecies of Metstradamus”…

Now I know you all believe that it's what the Mets do against the
Braves that decide the division race. But consider this: The Mets
finished 1986 with 108 wins. The Pirates finished with 64. The Mets
record against the Pirates was 17-1. Seems like that would have been
the case, no? But now consider the previous season when the Pirates
were actually worse…they won 57 games. The Mets were only 10-8
against the Bucos. And where did the Mets finish? A lousy three games
behind the Cardinals, who took care of business against Pittsburgh
going 15-3. With Washington falling below the equator, and Florida
falling off the baseball map completely, this is a great opportunity
for the Mets to fatten up against baseball's have nots. Beat the teams
that they're supposed to beat, and the rest takes care of itself.
    Tonight was a great start.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Take care of business and business will take care of itself.

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
