Anthony De Rosa is the owner and founder of Hot Foot. Anthony is a life long Mets fan who created Hot Foot in the spring of 2006 as a place for himself and his friends to discuss their experiences as Mets fans. The site quickly grew into a full blown Mets portal for news, notes, rumors, and rants by those founding members, and several contributing writers who joined us along the way.
Anthony is a veteran blogger who has been working alongside Matthew Cerrone since 2004 at Mets Blog, the most popular team-sports blog on the Internet, read by more than 60,000 baseball fans every day.
Anthony has been developing and providing consulting for web properties since 1996.
Anthony broke the story of Citibank purchasing the naming rights for the new Mets Stadium on Hot Foot which was subsequently picked up and credited by The New York Times, The New York Daily News, The New York Post and Newsday.
Anthony been a guest on numerous radio programs, and has co-hosted a show with Matt Cerrone on Mets Blog radio. Anthony has interviewed players such as Carlos Gomez as well as journalists such as Tim Marchman of the New York Sun, John Delcos and Peter Abraham of the Journal News, and Jim Callis of Baseball America.
Some of Anthony’s favorite Mets moments (other than the Buckner ball) are Lenny Dykstra’s 1986 NLCS game-winning home run at Shea Stadium and Cliff Floyd’s home run in an interleague rain delayed game against the Los Angeles Angeles, which also included a Marlon Anderson inside-the-park home run. After sitting through the rain delay, Anthony was rewarded with one of the most exciting games he’s been lucky enough to witness in person. The greatest Mets game Anthony has been in attendance for was Robin Ventura’s walk off grand slam single against the Atlanta Braves in the 1999 NLCS.
