    The Lineup:

Glavine has not lost since July 2nd in Colorado

  • PostGame: Mets 4 Nats 13

The Mets lost in a rout to the Nats tonight by a score of 13-4. Mike Pelfrey did not throw one of his better outings, allowing 7 runs 6 earned in 5.2 innings. The Bullpen was again awful tonight, allowing 6 runs in 4.1 innings. Dave Williams and Guillermo Mota allowed 3 runs each. On a side note, Moises Alou extended his hitting streak to 28 games.

It may show in the boxscore that Pelfrey did not pitch well, but for the first 4 innings, he pitched pretty well. It all came crumbling down on him when Austin Kearns hit a 3 run 2 out home run to make it 5-0 Nats.  Mota again allowed several runs after getting the first 2 outs. Dave Williams capped it all off, allowing a homer to Ryan Langerhans.. yes..you read that right. As for Alou, if hes willing to come back, pick up that option NOW.

Tommy Glavine will look to get back on track tomorrow at 7:10 EST.

     Lets Go Mets!

  • Postgame: Mets 4 Braves 3

The Mets took a rubber game for the first time this year vs the Braves,  by a score of 4-3 tonight. Guillermo Mota (2-1) undeservedly got the win, allowing 2 base runners to score in the 8th inning to tie the game. The Mets got the lead right back in the 8th off a Carlos Beltran single, stolen base, advance to 3rd on a throw to 1st, and a single by Shawn Green.

Gotta Love Beltran aggressive baserunning, and Green making solid contact to win it.

    Notes from the Game:

Marlon Anderson added a Solo Shot in the 5th off John Smoltz.

Moises Alou extended his hitting streak to 17 games.

John Maine pitched 6 innings of 1 run ball.

Shawn Green still owns Mr. Smoltz.

    Guillermo Mota is still garbage.

Billy Wagner went 1-2-3 in the 9th for his 34th save.

  • Carvajal released, claimed by Marlins

The Mets released Minor League pitcher Marcos Carvajal, and was claimed off waivers by the Marlins.

I heard in the spring that he might have had some potential, but obviously Omar and company did not see that happeneing.

  • Wright and 30-30

With his Homer in todays game, David Wright is now only 3 homers shy of the 30-30 club.  For a guy who had never hit 30 homers in his career, or had ever reached 25 Stolen Bases, Id say its a pretty big accomplishment for him. Keep it up Dave.

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
