After hearing from many that they were disappointed by the fact that Mike and Chris didn’t get together for their final show, I decided to do a second hour tonight and have fans of the show call in and share Mike and the Mad Dog memories.
From 7 to 8 I will be recapping baseball with Greg Prince of Faith and Fear, Joe Delgrippo of Dugout Central, and Dr. Mark Fillipi of Somaspace.org
From 8 to 9 you will hear from various fans talking about their Mike and Chris addiction!

Sphere: Related ContentI had the pleasure of covering the Cyclones game against the Staten Island Yankees for WGBB. Toby Hyde was there, as you already probably know, doing work for SNY. I had a chance to interview Brad Holt before the game and recap my observations of some prospects at my radio show blog. If you’re interested take a look.
Silva’s recap of 8/4 Cyclones Game
If you haven’t seen Toby’s appearance yet on SNY, I would recommend going to his site, MetsMinorLeagueBlog.com. He really did a great job outlining the farm system and his thoughts on some Mets prospects.
Sphere: Related ContentIn case you missed it, I replayed an interview with Danny Heep on Wednesday. Danny obviously talked about the great 86 team, but we also touched on that wild July 4th game in 1985 and some of the challenges he faces as a college coach.

Sphere: Related ContentI had a chance to catch up with former Mets IF Chris Woodward while covering the Yankees in Tampa for Gotham Baseball Magazine. We all remember Chris as a super -sub for the Mets in 2005 and 2006.
He discussed his career outlook, differences between both New York organizations, and his experience with each fan base. Chris will also talk about his three homer game in 2002 with Toronto, the 2006 NLCS, and his thoughts on the Mets 2007 collapse.
Most interesting is his take on his future. Woodward elaborates on the life stresses that play a role in a ballplayers decision to continue their career. Click here to listen to each interview.

You will hear from filmmaker John Fitzgerald, Wally’s agent Mike Mosa, Mike Colacchio and Tug Gillingham who played for Wally, and Wally Backman himself! Author Jeff Pearlman will be on the show tonight. Jeff is the author of the book “The Bad Guys Won” which chronicles the 1986 Mets and “Love Me Hate Me” the unauthorized biography of Barry Bonds. He also is a frequent contributer to ESPN.com Page 2. I discussed the Omar Minaya Dec 10th article about Mets fans and the perceived Latin bias. We also debated whether players like Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds should be in the Hall of Fame. To round out the interview I talked a bit about his book on the 86 Mets. Sphere: Related ContentI took the time last night to write a rebuttal column to the ESPN Page 2 piece by Jeff Pearlman about Mets fans. I believe there has been a loud minority of fans that frequent message boards cultivating this type of nonsense for a few years. These are the same fans that were angry when Omar Minaya dealt Kris Benson for Jorge Julio and a young pitcher back in the winter of 2005. Think about where this team would be without that deal.
I applaud Pearlman for taking on a delicate subject. What I want to make sure is that the rest of sports fans realize that these fringe kooks are not a fair representation of Mets fans. To read my entire rant, I mean column, click here.
