Injury Updates

Billy Wagner is a maybe tonight. Nothing says confidence like mystery.

Carlos Delgado is a yes.  For those who do not remember, he is the large latino gentlemen who played first base prior to Shawn Green.

Louis Castillo will play as well, his knees feel better, or at least as better as Castillo’s knees ever feel. Its the bees knees.

And Moises Alou announced that the manufacturers have declared his warrenty null and void due to excessive use. The Mets will have to cover any further damage as an out of pocket expense.

  • Lineup: Mets @ Marlins Game 2

Pedro Martinez looks to teach the Mets that winning thing. Pedro is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA in three starts. In 20 starts against the Marlins, he has a 2.74 ERA with 122 K to 30BB for a 5-6 record. Pedro gave up one run in six innings his last start, which the Mets eventually did the opposite of winning, whatever that may be.

Scott Olsen takes the mound for Florida, 9-14 6.06 ERA. Scotts got a 4.40 ERA career against NY in seven starts, during which he gave up six homeruns. Scott leads the league in getting tasered.

    the lineup:

    • SS Reyes
    • 2B Castillo
    • 3B Wright
    • CF Beltran
    • LF Alou
    • 1B Delgado
    • C Lo Duca
    • RF Milz
    • P Pedro

Milz is appealing his suspension and will play tonight. Milz has been walked 3 times by Olsen, while going 3 for 8. Beltran is 6 for 14 against Olsen with a double and 2 homeruns. Delgado returns tonight, he is 5 for 15 against Olsen, and has not played since Sept 4.

Game time is 7:05, catch it on SNY. Listen to it on WFAN. and see all the craziness at the Hot Foot Bleachers.

  • The General Gets Court Martialed

Lastings Milledge has been suspended for three games after arguing with an ump and getting ejected last night. He was restrained by Manuel and Rickey during the argument. He is appealing the suspension.
I’m not a fan of the 3 game suspension, but I like the Milz’s fire. Its good to see the Mets angry and emotional, since the fan base right now is mostly pretty angry and emotional.

Castillo has been scratched from the lineup with some knee soreness. Millz will bat second and Gotay will play second, batting 8th. If you haven’t figured this out yet, you aren’t watching the game. Booooooo.

    Who Is Hot Foot?

Hot Foot was founded by a group of life long friends who also happen to be die hard Mets fans. Hot Foot comes from the great 1986 Mets relief pitcher Roger McDowell who would use a wad of gum to stick a roll of cigarettes to the back of unsuspecting teammates shoes and light them on fire, thus a Hot Foot. Hot Foot is inspired by the same rock and roll baseball mentality of Roger and the 86 Mets, and uncensored commentary with news, notes, rumors and analysis revolving around the world of the Amazin New York Mets.
