According to TSN.com, MLB has expanded the All-Star Rosters from 32 to 33,  allowing teams to carry an extra pitcher.  In last season’s All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium, we were one inning away from seeing David Wright pitch, as both teams were on their last pitcher.

Seems like a good idea, although I’d prefer for the extra spot to be used on a catcher so that Omir Santos can make the squad.

Omir Santos - What a great idea! Is it possible to have him named to the roster of the American League?
  • Sure thing, and while we're at it, let's have the players in the field ride donkeys, and all the batters wear clown suits. This was NEVER a serious game, but once the fans got involved, any aspect of true all-star competition was lost. The home run derby -- silly by any mature standard -- is the only real inter-league league comparison.
