At his blog for the Daily News, Adam Rubin reports that the Mets have designated OF Marlon Anderson for assignment to make room on the roster for tonight’s starter Livan Hernandez. Anderson hit only .210 last year and was 0/4 in pinch hitting chances so far this year.

It’s tough to see Marlon go because he was very well liked by the team, but it was the right move. Marlon had nothing left in his tank as was shown by his lack of productivity last year, spring training this year and so far this season.
