Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that the Braves are close to an agreement to re-signing Tom Glavine. Mark Bowman at MLB.com reports that the deal could be done as early as today.

The deal is reportedly for one year and potentially worth $4.5 million. Glavine would receive a $1 million guarantee, $1 million for making the Opening Day roster and two additional bonuses tied to the number of the days he is active, the source said.

Glavine left the Mets in 2007 to return to the Braves and went 2-4 last season with a 5.54 ERA in 13 starts before he was shut down with a elbow and shoulder injury that required surgery.

The Braves are deferring money in the contract with hopes of using that money to acquire Ken Griffey Jr. or Garrett Anderson.
