Garcia told reporters he wanted to come to the Mets before he ended up in Detroit last season. He felt “pretty good” at the end of last season especially considering the type of injury he had. Currently his shoulder feels “really good”.
“If I’m 100% I expect to be in the rotation. If not I gotta go somewhere else”.
He has been friends with Johan Santana since 1994 and that he “hopes to make the team because they have a good ball club and if everything goes right we can win the division and go to the World Series”.

Another quick piece of news, according to the Associated Press, Venezuelan Baseball Federation president Edwin Zerpa said organizers of the tournament, World Baseball Classic Inc.,are not willing to pay the high insurance premium required for the Mets to clear Johan Santana after he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
