Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Mets have made an offer to Oliver Perez, which is better than the original $30 million over three years they were discussing.
Heyman believes Perez is the Mets top target but they are staying in touch with Randy Wolf, Jon Garland and Ben Sheets as well. The Dodgers seem to be closest on Wolf, while the Diamondbacks are in on Garland and the Rangers and possibly Yankees are targeting Sheets.
