The Reds have agreed to terms with speedster Willy Taveras on a two year deal. Taveras led the NL with 68 stolen bases last year.
Randy Johnson has signed a one year deal with the San Francisco Giants. The deal is for around 8m.
FoxSports.com is reporting that the Red Sox and Brad Penny are on the verge of coming to terms on a contract. After successful years in ‘06 and ‘07 Penny’s 2008 season was derailed by multiple injuries to his shoulder.
I have a feeling the Red Sox don’t feel like pursuing Derek Lowe for the 15m a year he is asking for. It seems like with every passing day the Mets are in a great position to sign not only Lowe, but possibly Oliver Perez as well.
