The Dodgers have been busy tonight. FoxSports.com Ken Rosenthal is reporting that they are close to signing 3B Casey Blake. Rosenthal’s source is telling him that Blake is about to sign a three-year, $17 million contract.

Plus, Hot Stove Blog is reporting that the Dodgers have signed utilityman Mark Loretta. Loretta, who is 37 signed a one year deal. Monetary details where not released.

Also, Dodgers GM Ned Colletti said he would consider going with a long term contract when it comes to CC Sabathia. Colletti, who Hot Stove Blog says is resistant to offer long term contracts. This news comes on the heels of reports that Sabathia would like to play for a west coast team:

“We’ve tried to stay short, three or less, but in special circumstances it might be more depending on the age, the health history, like that,” “He would be worth a consideration”, said Colletti.

Finally, the LA Times is reporting that the Dodgers are “thinking about” pursuing Trevor Hoffman and have re-opened talks with Rafael Furcal. Furcal recently turned down a four year deal with the A’s.

Colletti said he remained firm in his refusal to offer the shortstop a four-year deal.
