In a crazy turn of events, the San Jose Mercury News is reporting that free agent lefty CC Sabathia has declined the Yankees 6 yr/140m, and will instead sign with another team or stay with the Brew Crew.
HAHA, it’s not going to be a Merry Christmas for Hanky and Co.
I’m pretty sure this has to do with 1) Sabathia wanting to go to the West Coast to be with his family and 2) he is still entertaining the Brewers because he enjoyed his time there last year.
The Dodgers and Giants are also rumored to have interest.

Update 5:55 pm – According to MetsBlog via Espn’s Baseball Tonight the Yankees are denying reports that CC Sabathia rejected their offer.
