Bad news for fans out there hoping the Mets honored the Mustached One in a way he deserved, despite Citi Bank’s economic problems, their name will grace the stadium as planned. Citi Bank was one of the banks recieving a government bailout during the current crisis, resulting in some city politicians and residents questioning their ability to retain naming rights. Jeff Wilpon told the AP however that it’ll all work out in the end. Plus, its too late now, the signs are already up. And the Mets can’t afford new paint and Luis Castillo’s contract.

With this out of the way, the Mets can now focus on more important issues, like the bullpen, the rotation, second base, and of course, making sure they’re players don’t pull any Plaxico’s in the offseason.
