ESPN is reporting that Aaron Heilman’s agent, Mark Rodgers, has said that his client wants to start in 2009, and if that is not possible that he would like to be moved elsewhere.
Rodgers said “The object is to get out of the bullpen. The most success he’s ever had as a pitcher has been as a starting pitcher. He was drafted by the Mets as a starting pitcher.”
Heilman, a reliever for the last three years, finished 3-8 with a 5.21 ERA in 2008.
I can’t stand Heilman. Let him go. Heilman for the most part was ineffective as a starter, and I don’t see how a guy who gave up so many homers this year could even be successful as a starter.
