It looks as though SNY is saying goodbye to fan favorite and Brooklyn’s own Lee Mazzilli. Mazzilli, as you
already know worked as the Mets lead studio analyst.
His replacement seems to be another member of the Mets 1986 championship team, Bobby Ojeda.
Neil Best of Newsday’s Watchdog blog reports that Ojeda is the leading candidate to replace Mazzilli.
Well, I for one am not unhappy with this move. I never really thought Maz brought much to the table. I mean, he was fine, but I never walked away feeling like I learned something I did not already know. There was, however, a marked improvement when Harold Reynolds joined the studio staff. I actually looked forward to Reynolds analysis and I will miss him. I never felt that way about Maz and believe me I wanted too.
