ESPN is reporting that the Marlins and Nats have struck a deal that will send OF Josh Willingham and SP Scott Olsen to the Nats for 2B Emilio Bonifacio, and two minor leaguers.
Olsen was 8-11 with a 4.20 ERA and Willingham hit .254 with 15 homers and 51 RBI in 102 games in 2008.
Wow, is it just me, or does this trade look severely lopsided in the Nats favor. We all saw Bonifacio when we played the Nats in August and September and from my end he looked pretty bad. Olsen and WIllingham both provide the Nats with severe upgrades in both their lineup and rotation.
