The NYPost is reporting that six more Mets have filed for free agency, including SP Pedro Martinez and RP Luis Ayala. Also filing for free agency were SP Tony Armas, OF Moises Alou, RP Ricardo Rincon and INF Ramon Martinez. They join SP Oliver Perez, INF Damion Easley and RP Matt Wise in the free agency pool.
I’m hoping we can hold into Easley, as he provides the bench with a veteran presence who can play multiple positions when needed. Other than that, I don’t see why the Mets should keep anyone else on this list, except for Perez, if the front office fails in it’s attempt at acquring a SP.
