Mets.com is reporting that the Mets have picked up Carlos Delgado’s 2009 option, at 12 million.
Delgado was a man on a mission for the last three months of the year after a dismal year and a half. He finished with 38 long balls and 115 RBI. He hit 27 homers and had 80 of his RBI in the final 85 games of the year.
It was the right move, as I doubt we could have found a 1B in 2009 that could have given us as much power as Delgado does.
