Ken Rosenthal at Fox Sports reports that the Rockies have put closer Brian Fuentes and centerfielder Willy Tavares on waivers.
Fuentes has converted 26 of 30 save attempts and has a 2.73 ERA for the Rockies this season.
I would love to see the Mets pick up Fuentes and install him as closer while Wagner is on the mend but the Mets don’t have too much depth to deal to the Rockies in the form of prospects.
UPDATE: Rosenthal reports on Fox Sports that Fuentes was placed on the berevement list by the Rockies on Monday, essentially making it impossible to trade him before the roster deadline.
