According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Mets were awarded a claim on right-handed reliever Doug Brocail, however, the Astros took him off waivers.
The Astros are currently 12 games out in the division and 7 1/2 out in the wild card, but still consider themselves contenders.
Brocail isn’t awful, but do the Mets really need another 40+ year old player on their team?
