Manny Ramirez is willing to work with the Red Sox on a trade that would get him out of Boston, according to .
I know there are people who don’t want Manny here but I’m not one of them. C’mon Omar work some magic.
Update 5:25 - The following are some quotes from ESPN.com:
“If the Red Sox are a better team without Manny Ramirez, they should trade me; I will not object,”…”I don’t have any preferences: I could choose a team that offers me the best conditions or one in the chase for the postseason. I don’t care where I play, I can even play in Iraq if need be. My job is to play baseball,” added Ramirez.

Get ready for a whole bunch of stories linking the Mets to Manny Ramirez. And file it in the fertilizer category.
Way to be a killjoy there Adam.
Update 7:45 - Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com writes:
Sphere: Related ContentThe Mets and Phillies have contacted the Red Sox about a possible deal, major-league sources say, but the Mets deny serious interest in Ramirez and the Phillies are even more of a longshot…The Mets can’t trade any more trade top prospects, can’t mess with their improved vibe under new manager Jerry Manuel.

i dont know. im starting to buy into Tatis a little bit. He was a top prospect back in the day
If we can get Manny for no FMart, gotta do it.
Rob - huh? now we gotta do it? in your last blog, you said we’re better off with Ibanez.
I’m beginning to come around to your way of thinking, however. I have no use for a guy hitting .312 with 509 HR and 1668 RBI in his career.
By the way, if Boston could stomach Manny for EIGHT seasons and win two championships (and counting) along the way, that’s the sort of headache I wish I had.
If we can grab him for a B+ prospect it’s a no brainer. He may be a headache, but you deal with it for three months. He splits via FA in the offseason and then 2 draft picks fall in our laps.
Lest we forget, the Sox somehow managed to pull off two World Series Championships despite Manny being such an “albatross”.
Also, if talk of him going to Philly is legit, you gotta start thinking of a block.
Then again, this is probably a lot of smoke to begin with.
gozer, i meant hes not worth FMart with his complaining.
if we can get him for a bunch of lower level prospects than i’d be able to deal with all the manny stufff.
