Twins 1B Justin Morneau won the Home Run Derby over the Rangers Josh Hamilton in the finals by a score of 5-3. Even if Morneau won, the story of the night was Hamilton. Hamilton belted a record 28 homers in the 1st round, shattering Bobby Abreu’s record of 24 set in 2005. As is the case many times, Hamilton tired and did not have enough gas to defeat Morneau in the final round. My selection, Dan Uggla, finished the derby with six homers.

Great showing by Hamilton, Morneau, and the rest of the Derby competitors
