dans right. with the way the fans vote (sorry, Kosuke Fukeudome starting over a ton of better OFs, and Dustin Pedroia starting over Ian Kinsler, Jeter over Mike Young etc.).

you either have it

this way: fans vote, just for fun
This way:managers chooses teams: for Homefield.

I think they need to go back to the old way and just rotate each year home field advantage for the WS. Its hard to justify the ASG counting to begin with, but as long as the fans decide the participants instead of going with the actual best players in each position, it just seems silly to pretend it counts. That method of selection would at the very least make the game more competitive, though one could argue the current method at least puts a bit of a disadvantage on the AL, since its team will often be bloated with overrated Yankees.

I agree with you to a point. The idea that the World Series hasn't gone more than 6 games since 03 is kinda of irrelevent here. The point Selig tries to make is that if it DID go to the 7th game, how would the ballpark be chosen. Now, I do not know how they did it before so this is where I agree with you in general.

I think the All Star Game should be fun. Like the homerun derby and all the other fun stuff in the All Star Break.
