7 in a row! The Mets defeated the Rockies by a score of 2-1 tonight at Shea. Pedro Feliciano got the win for the Mets, and Taylor Buchholz took the loss for the Rockies. Billy Wagner closed it out with a 1,2,3 ninth for his 21st save of the year.
A few notes:
- Ollie Perez was solid again, going 6+ innings, allowing one run on a solo homer by OF Brad Hawpe. Ollie also walked six batters, and allowed only two hits.
- The Mets scored their first run on a 2 out single by Jose Reyes in the 5th.
- The Rockies left the bases loaded in the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings.
- The Mets bullpen was great again, helping Ollie get out of a 1st and 2nd no out jam in the 7th inning.
- Somewhere, Andrew Beaton is wearing his lucky tube socks proudly
The Mets look for their 8th straight win tomorrow. Pedro Martinez will face Ubaldo Jimenez.
