MLB.com is reporting that Phillies pitcher Brett Myers has accepted an assignment to the Phillies Triple A affiliate after having a dismal first half of the year. Myers was 3-9 with a 5.84 ERA in 17 starts this year. He also allowed 24 home runs, one of the top numbers in the majors.

Myers had been awful, so not really a surprise. This move will not affect the Phillies four game set with the Mets, as Myers was slated to start Thursday, therefore missing the Mets series..
