In a game delayed by rain more than once, the Mets lost to the Yankees 3-2.
The Mets only two runs of the day were from solo HRs, both off Andy Pettitte. Ramon Castro hit his 2nd HR of the year in the 2nd inning before the rain delay, and David Wright hit his 15th in the sixth inning after the rain delay. Many people were surprised to see Pettitte come out to pitch after the rain delay, unlike Johan Santana who did not. Santana allowed three runs in six innings of work, while striking out eight.
The Mets look to salvage the last of the 3 games at Shea and win the season series vs. the Yankees tomorrow as Oliver Perez takes on Darrell Rasner at 1:10 pm.
