According to Jon Heymen’s daily scoop at SI.com, MLB teams will support Fred Wilpon’s charity, “Welcome Back Veterans.” According to Heyman, the players will wear Stars and Stripes hats along with logos that read “Welcome Back Veterans.org.” To visit the charity, head over to Welcome Back Veterans, where you can watch videos that feature Tom Hanks and more.
The teams will wear the special hats and logos on July 4th and September 11th. The mission of Welcome Back Veterans is to help take care of their mental health, and take care of their employment, along with other sorts of veteran resources. Also, the McCormick Foundation will match the first $4 million dollars raised at 50 percent.
Fantastic cause, nice that the whole league is banding together for the greater good.
