The NY POST is reporting that Manager Willie Randolph and Pitching Coach Rick Peterson have been fired.  The story is developing and no further information is available at this time.  Check back with Hotfoot for more info as it becomes available.

It’s 4am EST and I just received a late night call alerting me to this in L.A..  The story is up on the front page of the Post as breaking news, so it’s safe to presume this is confirmed.

Why on earth would they fly Willie out to L.A. and then fire him after one game?  And after a win no less.  Wow.

Bench coach Jerry Manuel has been named the team’s interim manager, while Ken Oberkfell, Dan Warthen and Luis Aguayo will join the staff.
