The Mets look to not get swept in San Diego, where the offense has gone to die in lovely weather. Pedro Martinez takes the mound to face off against Wil Ledezma.
Keys to the game:
- Hitting. Oft considered the primary skill needed in a baseball player
- Scoring more than one run. Clearly the Padres are not capable of scoring 3 runs, so the Mets need to learn to score 3, or even if possible, 4 runs. No need for greed. Just 3 or 4, which is more than 2, and therefore enough to win.
- Pedro to survive. In just his second start of the season, Pedro needs to remain in one piece so that he could possible pitch at least ten games over the course of the season.
Gametime is 4pm, and is aired in most of NY on the CW, and can be heard on WFAN. As always, visit the Hot Foot Bleachers during the game to talk the game, Mets baseball, and the chance someone in Mets management loses a job tomorrow.

at least we wont lose 2-1 again
i have to say…i had a busy weekend with friends from out of town, and the only real baseball exposure i had was the ridiculous 31-hit game at yankee stadium on saturday…and my life was a little better for it. i should be more upset about this team, but i’m not. last time the willie watch was on, i was raging pissed. now i think i’ve just accepted that the mets are the textbook definition of a mediocre team.
