Anthony - i heard the comments yesterday and I have to say, I’m not so sure he “cleared the air.” If his original comments hadn’t convinced me he wasn’t the man for the job, his attempt at explaining himself sure did! I like the guy, but he is not the right personality for this team.
I would just assume that Carter has blown his shot, more than anything because he turned down a promotion to coach in the minors. Baseball is a business, and generally when you don’t take an offer to move up, its going to be a long wait for the next one. Carter can’t act all surprised his phones not ringing now after telling the Mets no last time they called. If they go the old school 80s met way, I’d except to see HoJo or Tuefell, not Carter.
