Pardon the non-Mets related note but this guy is too impressive not to address. Last night Diamondbacks pitcher Micah Owings was put in to pinch hit in the sixth inning, with two runners own and the D-Backs down 2 runs. Owings responded with a home run.

To understand just how impressive a hitter Owings is, among hitters with a minimum of 75 plate appearances, Owings is 5th all time in OPS (1.044) after Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig, and Barry Bonds.

This year he is 8 for 19 with 5 runs scored and 1 HR.

I could use him in my fantasy baseball team. Not as a pitcher, but as an extra utility player. The guy is simply amazing.
