The Mets defeated the Phillies by a score of 6-4 tonight at Citizens Bank Park. The winning pitcher was Johan Santana(2-2). The loser was Cole Hamels (2-1) and Billy Wagner got his 3rd save of the year.

A few notes:

  • Santana was magnificent, only allowing three runs in 7+ innings, while striking out 10 batters.
  • David Wright had a big game for the Mets, going 4-4 with a BB and 2 RBI
  • Ryan Church and Angel Pagan each contributed two hits
  • Jose Reyes went 0-4 with a walk, and stole his 2nd base of the year
  • Brian Schneider went 3-4 in his return from the lineup with an RBI
  • Wagner pitched a perfect ninth for his 3rd save of the year.

The same two teams go at it again tomorrow. Oliver Perez will face off against Jamie Moyer. Gametime is slated for 3:55 EST on FOX.
