Hey, nobody bet against the Mets winning the division. What a bunch of homers - lol! Hey, I wouldn’t bet against them either. That’s why I wouldn’t make predictions. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I could never bet against my beloved team, but at the same time, I would never want to jinx them. But seriously, one ballsy prediction jumped off the page at me. Mr. Foot, Anthony picked the Reds to win the NL Central. I don’t think I’d pick them, but man, that took some guts! Most of you seemed a little over confident that the Mets will WIN the World Series - 7’s, 8’s and a 9 (Ms. Gal). Hey, you could be on to something - there’s certainly a lot of love there. Just considering the odds of any one team winning, I would probably lean closer to Andrew Smith’s 3 and although I don’t have any personal predictions, the closest one for the NL Division and WC to my casual guess would again probably be Andrew Smith’s (is that Joe Smith from the Bleachers?) Still, it’s fun and I’d like a link to last years, if there was one. Now I know why Mr. Foot didn’t particpate in Metsblog’s predictions this year. He’s got his own freaky predictions party going on over here! Great job!
The Reds don’t have any players that will knock your socks off, but I feel like they have a lot of under the radar guys who, if they all click, can compete in that division. I think the Brewers and Cubs are overhyped. I love Francisco Cordero closing, I like Arroyo and Harang and I think Brandon Phillips is an absolute stud.
The Reds are overlooked and will surprise a lot of people this season.
I agree that the Reds could do decently and in the more longterm, I see them as a force to be reckoned with. Winning the division this year seems soon, but nobody - nobody guessed the Rockies last year.
