Bart Hubbuch on his blog for the New York Post reports that Pedro Martinez was sharp in his final start before the regular season begins.
Brian Schneider caught Pedro, who threw 80 pitches in six simulated innings against mostly Mets minors leaguers. Hubbuch reports that Martinez’s curveball looked “terrific”.
John Delcos, on his blog for the Journal News, has audio of Pedro speaking after his performance and relays a story of how Pedro posed for a picture in Spring Training with a 15-year old high school catcher in 1992, the same catcher who caught his game today, Brian Schneider.
