The Mets play the Baltimore Orioles tonight, and in a effort to prevent global warming, Trax will not pitch. Johan Santana will however, be taking the mound for the Mets. He’s struck out 14 so far this spring, while allowing eight runs. All of which, meaningless. Dirty Sanchez, Billy Wagner, Aaron Heilman and Pedro Feliciano will all participate as well.

The lineup:

  • SS Reyes
  • 2B Castillo
  • 3B Wright
  • CF Beltran
  • 1B Delgado
  • RF Church
  • C Cancel
  • LF Endy
  • P Santana

Cancel will play for catcher, as him and Casanova battle for who will play should Castro’s hamstring cause a early season DL. Schneider remains the odd catcher out who refuses to have a name that starts with the letter C. Aside from that, its your opening day lineup ladies and gentlemen. All our starters will take their normal spots in the field as they try to work out rust and surgery related stiffness and the clock to opening day tick tocks closer to zero. Hopefully tonights workout will be stabbing free.

Gametime from Tradition Field is 7, and if you want to enjoy talk from others who may or may not be paying more attention to college basketball, head on by the Hot Foot Bleachers, where our very own Professor Loran will be telling you why you should root for Duke (though really, you shouldn’t).
