Ambiorix “Amburglar” Burgos was robbed of some jewelry according to the AP. According to the report, a bag containing almost $300,000 of jewelry disappeared from his hotel, and later reappeared around $30,000 in bling lighter. There is no further information at this time, though its believed none of his cheeseburger stash was affected.

Wow, how is this not bigger news? Where’s my 24 hour news coverage of the Burgos Robbery on CNN, Fox News, and whatever that one with Katie Couric is?

More importantly, how the hell does the Amburglar have $300,000 in bling? And if thats just his ‘hanging out in the bars of St Lucie” bling, how much more does he have from his stints at Shea? Personally I’m assuming he has a Jose Reyes shaped gold medallion. Cause if I was a AAA player hoping to crack the roster, thats what I’d get. And maybe some David Wright and Carlos Beltran shaped rings. Man, I’d be decked out like a baseball rockstar. If only I had $300,000 to drop on jewelry. And could play baseball.
