The AP reports that former Met Mike Piazza has declined arbitration with the A’s. If he signs elsewhere they would now get a draft pick to replace him. He is joined by ex Met Mike Cameron, potential Met starter Livian Hernandez and 11 others who choose to reject arbitration.

Hopefully Mike knows what he’s doing, because the rumor mill hasn’t exactly been jumping with potential offers, especially seeing as last anyone heard he might be forced to the Japanese League to extend his career. Seeing as Lo Duca so far hasn’t seemed to get more than a one year backup catcher job offer, and is healthier and closer to have last played everyday than Mike, I don’t know if there is another team out there that will bring him in.
